Your responsibilities:

  • Conducting task around data protection related tasks and issues.
  • First point of contact for and report to all external parties and management, plus authorities
  • Reviewing existing procedures to ensure constant adherence with regulations.
  • Following-up on changes in laws and issue recommendations to the management board and employees to ensure consistent compliance.
  • Conducting GDPR trainings for employees
  • Writing and updating detailed guides on data processing policies and procedures.
  • Preparing and conducting data privacy impact assessment, where necessary.
  • Continuous further development of the data protection strategy of the bank.
  • Maintaining, monitoring and updating the data processing register together with the various departments.
  • Ensuring that all queries from data subjects are addressed within the legal timeframes (e.g. responding to requests, deleting information from the databases, etc.).
  • Ongoing review of all regulatory and legislative updates required for the application within the bank and distribution of the information to the parties concerned (incl. supervising the implementation and reporting to the management board).
  • Further tasks with regards to GDPR and/or the review of legal regulations might be assigned.

Your profile:

  • University degree in either business administration, economics or law.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience within a similar position
  • Additional  experience in a paralegal/legal position is considered an asset.
  • Good understanding of IT and data security and a strong process focus.
  • Excellent communication skills both in English – both verbally and written, German and/or French is a great plus.
  • Profound knowledge of MS Office

Ihre Aufgaben:

  • Sie pflegen diverse Datenbanken und nehmen bewertungsrelevante Prüfungen vor
  • Analyse von Anlagebegrenzungen und Risikorestriktionen gemäß den regulatorischen Vorgaben
  • Analyse von Nachhaltigkeitsrisiken (ESG Risiken) und Mitarbeit bei der Weiterentwicklung der unternehmensinternen Nachhaltigkeitsstrategie

Wir erwarten von Ihnen:

  • Abgeschlossene Ausbildung im Finanzumfeld oder Studium mit Schwerpunkt Finanzwesen
  • Grundlegende Vertrautheit mit Finanzmarktinstrumenten und der Funktionsweise der Börse
  • Sie sind in der Lage, selbstständig und verantwortungsbewusst zu arbeiten
  • Sehr gute Sprachkenntnisse in Deutsch und Englisch, Französisch wäre ein Pluspunkt
  • Ausgezeichnete Kenntnisse mit der Software MS-Office, insbesondere mit Excel.

The acronym GDPR stands for the General Data Protection Regulation and was implemented in May 2018. As a regulation of the European Union, it is directly binding and applicable and provides flexibility for certain aspects of the regulation to be adjusted by individual member states. The GDPR’s primary aim is to guarantee individual control over one’s personal data and simplify the international business regulatory environment.

The regulation had a massive impact on the financial sector due to its intensive contact with sensitive information. As such, high demand for experts in this new field arose. Job profiles related to the GDPR regulation can be Compliance officer (GDPR), Legal consultant (GDPR), or Data Protection Officer. GDPR is not only relevant to the finance sector, but also to Human resources, real estate, retail, and every other field where sensitive data is processed.

For financial service operators, GDPR compliance means they must have appropriate measures in place to protect the personal data of their customers and clients. This includes implementing technical and organizational measures to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of personal data, as well as having processes in place for handling data breaches. Financial service operators must also appoint a Data Protection Officer (DPO) if they process personal data on a large scale, or if their core activities involve regular and systematic monitoring of data subjects.

Financial service operators must also obtain explicit and informed consent from clients before collecting, using, or sharing their personal data, and clients must have the right to access, correct, and delete their personal data. Additionally, financial service operators must put in place contractually binding and enforceable instruments with third parties that process personal data on their behalf.

Overall, compliance with GDPR requires financial service operators to review and update their policies, procedures and practices around data protection and to implement adequate controls to protect personal data of their clients.
